You can file a police report any time you want. Just go to the station and report it to the officer. I would do it as soon as I noticed that someone had used my checks.

In most places you have five days for physical crimes, like a car crash or a robbery. That's five days, NOT five business days.
For many financial crimes, you have to file as soon as you're aware of the crime, but before your next statement. Credit Card fraud for example, has to be reported within 30 days. Most banks require you to report it within 30 days.
Be sure to report it to your bank first.
If you can't be bothered to report the fraud to your bank, then congratulations, you're too lazy to be allowed to keep your money anyway.

Depends how long ago the crime has happened.Some states the stutute of limitations might of run out. But in others it could still be good.But phone the athourites and find out for sure.Peace Victorio
