Bush didn't serve in Viet Nam, and he didn't go AWOL. He served in the National Guard, that was established long ago.

He served with honor in the Air National Guard....Never said he served in VietNam....I went AWOL also, and served 2 tours in VietNam...recieved an Honorable Discharge...no difference.

Bush never served his country by going to Vietnam like the man he's supposed to be.

His daddy got him a deferral so he could stay here in America and play the politics game for him.

I would imagine that without too much effort a copy of his "unaltered" DD-214,(discharge papers) could be obtained through the VA,if one was inclined to try...Unless it's classified as "secret",it should be a matter of record, and if not available, another reason to disbelieve the excuses provided, and furthermore,I remember a lot of guys I served with, and there must be "SOMEONE" who remembers serving beside G.W. at that time

It NEVER happened. Bush's military record does NOT have him deployed to Vietnam.
Whoever says he went is a liar.

President Bush declined to serve overseas when asked if he would volunteer.
