You are so right! The best weekend of football is the AFC/NFC Championship weekend. The SuperBowl is a total media hype, and does'nt represent the true fans or game. The game should not be played at a neutral site, always in great weather or domes. It is not fair to teams built to win in cold weather or the fans who have supported them all year.

Agreed.
I have been joking for years that I look forward to Chamiponship weekend as "the most exciting day in the NFL Season" rather than the Superbowl.
The Superbowl has become caricature of itself.
Even the name Superbowl has become kind of Hokey. Super was a trendy word in the 60's and 70's, tolerable in the 80's and now only used by folks who don't know better.
Yesterday, we get 2 competitive games (other than the 2nd half of NFC) and only a little annoying hoopla.
As big as the Rolling Stones were, Paul McCartney was and even Prince was at one point, what is with this penchant the NFL has for oldtimers? All extremely talented but not on my radar anymore.
A better idea would to have the top rated high school marching bands from around the country perform. I would actually watch that.
The insult added to the above mentioned injury is that we have to wait 2 weeks for them to put this junk together, instead of just playing the game (which is really what I am interested in) next week.
Yeah you're right, totally commercialized.

Yeah, I've saying this for years. I think the Conference Championship games are always the best games of the year. Chicago pulled away from New Orleans in the 4th quarter, but that Colts-Pats game was a classic. I hate the two week gap between the Conference Championships and the Super Bowl. Just an extra week for the hype machine to turn. This one could be a good one though. It'll be fun to watch the Colts offense against the Bears defense.

Totally. It is the guys who like football that watch the games in the playoffs. It is everyone else watching with them in the Superbowl, and they have made the game about Corporate Sponsors instead now. That is why you won't see a Cold-Weather Stadium get a Superbowl, those Wall-Street boys don't want to get snow on their Armani suits.

Yes! And just watch the pre-Superbowl hype focusing on the two coaches ethnicity, rather than what excellent football minds they are. That always strikes me as somewhat patronizing.

Yes.
Most Super bowls are mismatches where one team is clearly superior.
The number of Super Bowls decide by 7 points or less is 7. 7 out of 40 is not a high number of close games.

the superbowl game is terrible, but least it gives us a good excuse to have a big party it's like New Year's day but better becuase their is funny commercials, but they AFC/NFC championchips are almost always better as far as the game is concerned

I agree, and at least with playoff games, you get the benefit in being in one teams home stadium, to rock the home crowd.
