White men are quickly becoming a smaller minority of the population...the democratic front runners are reflecting this change. Will the reps follow suit? Can they still garner a majority of the votes if they don't?

political, you are wrong, women and hispanics are NOT the minority, and we have had a few unqualified white men slip through.

Ideally our representative democracy should do just that…REPRESENT! It should be a microcosm of the best we have with respect to diversity. Yet, even going as far back as Roman times, representative democracies seldom if ever accurately reflected our diversity because all systems of government, republics included, are dominated by the rich. Though white men are diminishing in numbers in relation to the rest of the population, they will have a larger, and more importantly, DISPROPORTIONATELY larger representation in our government because wealth tends to preclude others from competitively vying for office. Caucasian males might be declining in the population, but their per capita wealth in relation to Hispanics, blacks, and women is much greater, and this allows them to have political hegemony despite their meager numbers.
It is not enough for Hispanics or blacks to grow population. They must invest in long-term financial growth in their communities. They must not spend their money frivolously on the latest fad or the shiny new car, but truly invest in things with long-term gains as well as focus on education to produce the kind of wealth that lasts generations; wealth that accrues to greater amounts with each successive generation. That is how the whites, or any group in history, gained political clout for long periods of time. History is written and ruled by those who think ahead, and not by those who are concerned with fleeting immediate enjoyment. When minorities start learning this, more and more of them will be competitive on the political stage.

White men have always been a smaller minority of the population... what's so wrong, all of a sudden, that other people are finally getting the opportunity to run for power

The GOP is predominantly populated by angry white religious nuts who feel cheated that they didn't get to be the masters of the plantation. Our grandkids will tour museums and recall the insanity of the right while shaking their heads in astonishment at the depths of human stupidity.

I have to admit, a Barak Obama/John McCain ticket would be hard to say "no" to. (Don't laugh, differing parties have held the positions at the same time before)
Even a John McCain/Colin Powell ticket would be hard to pass up.
But who knows? Maybe it'll be Hilary Clinton and Condaleeza Rice.

Respectually, I submit to you that it is women, not men, who hold the majority of wealth in the United States. This is what I have read.
