To start I have know this person for a long time. To be honest he has gone to drug rehab, however he is totally clean now. He does not drink and he lives alone in a single apartment. He is everything you want in a friend; he talks to you when your sick, he defends you when your being insulted, he cares for your well-being and he understands so much about life due to his past experiences. The only problem is this... Last weekend I had stayed the night at his house because the next day we were going to a university to tour it. It went well until a friend needed some help; he went to help but came home very late. So he overslept and when I asked him he said we will go next week but I had to tell my dad that we had went because i had made money just for this trip. In short my parents found out and told me that I can never see him again and that if I do talk to him they will disown me and not help me out with college and I will be kicked out. Should I stick with my bestfriend?

My advise to you is to listen to your parents on this one... I understand wanting to stand by your best friend, but theres a time to take responsibility for your own actions.

my advice is listen to your parents, trust me they are probably
right about this person. my mother told me the same thing many years ago about a certain person and i didnt listen i learned the hard way she was right. i am not saying the parents are always right but they are looking out for your future and you should do the same. if this friend was a true friend tired or not they would have went with you the next day! who hasnt gotten little sleep and the went to work, school, ect, everybody has been there but you are an adult and need to take resopsabilty your own actions, this person was more worried about sleep then you.
you dont need friends like that there are too many good friends to waste time and make parents mad about the ones that dont care
about you. take advice from somebody whos been there move on you can make new better friends that care about you!

That's a tough call, but if he is truly your friend he would not want you to jeopardize your future for his actions.

Personally, I would do as my parents ask as they are holding the purse strings right now.
