We're going May 17-20, then going to a Disney Resort. It's just two adults, and we're not interested in the high-end Universal resorts (Portafino, Hard Rock, etc.) Any advice will help! Thanks!

Well, we lived in Orlando for 15 years, and there are boatloads of hotels that are on International drive that is right down the way from Universal. We now live in Tampa and when we go to Orlando to visit friends (we lived in South Orlando - 5 miles from International Drive) we stay at the Wyndham Resorts - big, clean room in a resort type atmosphere right at International and Sand Lake Dr - rooms are about $150 for the time frame you're looking at, but if you're AAA member you get more off than that - we have yet to spend more than $100 (pre-tax) per night. Have fun (and remember you're sunscreen!)

As two adults, I would really recommend staying at the resort. It's fantastic and city walk is a lot of fun at night.

It's like a neon strip mall outside of Universal and I think the experience loses something. Stay at Royal Pacific. They have a lot of deals and if you are a member of AAA, you can save even more.

I love AAA, they really offer a lot of fantastic travel deals.
