I seriously doubt that society will ever regard it as healthy. They may tolerate it, but never truly accept it.

The reasons for this is that these people (transvestites) are normally heterosexual and want to get married and have a family. Then they want their spouse to support and participate in their cross dressing. The wife tires of this pretty quickly and complains that she feels like her husband's second love. She feels as if she is in competition with her husband's alter-ego. The transvestite usually does develop a female alter-ego that remains very important to him. It is part of his self-identity. He treats his female alter with a feminine name, he cares even loves his female alter-ego. In time, the transvestite hits a crisis. As he gets older, he feels a need to be more feminine. He takes greater risks with his cross-dressing. He considers surgery and may even leave his wife and family in order to pursue his first love.

Therefore, society believes that it is healthier for boys to want to be boys and for girls to like being girls.

There is more of an understanding now then there was thirty years ago. The fact is that on a social scale the acceptance level is of tolerance not of acceptance. Until society is educated on the underlying mentality and desire then there will only be tolerance. The truth is that only within the last fifteen years has the diagnoses of transsexual, trans-gender, transvestites, cross dressing and homosexuality has been removed from the diagnostic statistic manual as being wrong but as being listed as a difference in the neural pathway functioning. One can only expect society to be slow on full acceptance but it is progressing and that is more then what one could say thirty, forty, fifty years ago or more. I hope this helps.

Probably never. It will make others feel theartened. Others will feel like transsexual/transvestite are basically trying to trick them. It's like as with con artist, thieves, and other crimes that fool people.

It could really mess someone life up and people doesn't respect that.

Homosexual are accepted because they basically are upstraight about their gender instead of try to pretend be a gender they're not.

Only those that want to will accept it and they in most areas are in the minority. I don't think that is a matter of fair or of right or wrong any more than those of you out there think of your preferences and lifestyles as right or wrong and as far as fair there is no such thing. What I do not ever want to see is fascist legislation masquerading as liberal legislation that attempts to strip those of us with a different opinion of the right to form and hold those opinions that differ with theirs that would be an abomination. Do you have the right to act as you want? Yes. Do you have the right to force people to accept it? No. Will some people accept it? Yes some will and some will not and that is the kind of freedom of choice that should never be judged just like your behavior.

give it time, sweetie, and don't be afraid to be yourself. most people find transsexuals, etc. to be intimidating and confusing and a little extreme. a lot of people still don't accept homosexuality still, but it's becoming more accceptable, as more and more states are approving that homosexual marriage will be legal. the USA is becoming more liberal than ever, so we may see the acceptance of transvestites, etc. in our lifetime. in the meantime, keep doing what you're doing and live a happy fulfilled life the way you choose!

Only when science comes up with a cure that causes normal people to become something they are not.
Just because people are different does not mean that they SHOULD be accepted.
Who started that? Well, it must of been the people who think they are different than the rest of us.
Statement: "Iam a girl in a boys body"
Question: Who told you that?
Answer: You told yourself that.
So the rest of us are to now accept you as a normal person because you think you are different?
NO, you need help, not acceptance.
You don't like my answer, then you should of not of asked the question.

Never. Western morals and means are based on Biblical teaching and the practice of "deviant" sexual personalities are against Biblical teaching. This is not a statement from me but the general concensus of western religious history as a whole

I don't think that is something that will be accepted as a whole. You have to don't care what people think or what they even say. Look how racism still exist . So don't worry when it's going to stop worry about not to worry what t people think .

I don't think everyone ever will accept this. Just like gay marriage, inter-racial dating, and the like. Society has long embedded in us that it is wrong. Some things you just cannot change!
