I recently searched for something "naughty" on Google (on the home page). Now I can't get rid of the text. Can you help. A work colleague just used my pc and spotted it. I said I didn't know how it got there.

Delete your history and your cache. Some browsers have a reset function too that will erase both and clear your cookies files as well. Some browsers also have a "private browsing" function - so that your visits are not recorded to the history, cache or cookies.

Remember too that some large companies have filters that monitor for porn and external job searches and can trace the visits back to a particular workstation at a particular time - be careful what you surf for at work!

Doesn't your work use a network then? If it does and you all have your own usernames and passwords, any history, favourites etc etc will be saved on YOUR local profile. Your work colleague's one would be a totally different one and therefore wouldn't be able to view anything you had done - unless they have administrator priviliges and are able to log on that way or check the server logs, that's assuming you logged out after you used your terminal which you should ALWAYS do of course. If he carried on using it after you'd been using it then that's a completely different ballgame. Personally I wouldn't worry about it, although it depends quite how "naughty" you're talking about?! :)

on IE - Click on Tools -----> Optioons. Then click on the Content tab. Click on the button called Autocomplete. Then choose the option to Clear forms. This shd get rid of the text in the google search window. Under Tools - ----> options click on general tab and choose clear history. This will get rid of "naughty" sites you visited from history

If you're using Internet Explorer pick Tools/Internet Options, click the Content tab and hit the AutoComplete button. Clicking Clear Forms should do it. (This is on IE6 - it might be different on IE7)

I have the Google in task bar form. I removed the "history" by just clicking on the arrow down and click on the "remove/clear search history"
