My son is 5 and he wanted me to ask my "answer people" if they could come up with some cool suggestions for hi very first pinewood derby car. He needs a name and a number. His sister's car is Big Bird 10 (she is 3) but he wants something cooler. Lightning McQueen and those type of really popular car names are gone already. Thank you so much.

It all depends on what he likes. If he really likes say...Bob the Builder, call it Bob Boy 5 or whatever other show he's into. Your daughter seemed to like big bird right? well, ask your son to pick out, or make a list of his favorite television characters or characters from books. Have him pick out something that means a lot to him. If we tell you what to name the car, he may not understand it...and face it, some of the answers on this site are not exactly five year old ear worthy.
As far as i know, these derby things are family affairs right? Well, why not sit down, your son you and his dad and make a big list, or at least try to, of his favorite things, people, numbers and that kind of thing. Make the most of it. That way you can spend some quality time with your son and you are getting something accomplished...

What is there to mind really, your not hurting anyone and your not going to up set your wife by making derby cars, if this is what you want to do DO IT and if you feel like keep doing it Do it. I am sure your wife would want you to be happy and to have sometime for your self once in a while to just do something for you.
