First of all, you need to remove yourself from the situation. If your spouse has had an affair you cannot be with them. I don't care what their excuse is. If you stay with this person they will do it again. You would have already shown that you condone an affair.

Once you are on your own, that is when things will get difficult. You have probably been with this person for a long time, and you'll have a hard time removing them permanently from your life. Going through a divorce is very emotional. I know, I have been there. Don't give up! It will get better! It is going to take a lot of time but you WILL get through it. Surround yourself with friends and family and keep busy. Too much idle time will make you think too much and you'll start feeling sorry for yourself.

Don't worry about dumping this person. If they really cared about you they would never have cheated on you. They are obviously scum and you shouldn't give them a second thought. When all this is behind you, you will be a much stronger person because of it.

Also, rebounding is not a good idea. Going straight to someone else is the last thing you want to do. You will be too emotionally distraught to be handling another relationship right away. You will have trust issues with this person because you are still scarred from what your last partner did. Give yourself time. Try not to rush these things. Good luck.

It's really not easy to get over it, I had also gone through depression periods due to heartbreak & all that...

All you need is to involve yourself in some creativities. What do you like ? Drawings 'n illustrations, or music, or photography ... do something that you enjoy. For me it's abstract arts, that make me a bit creative. Avoid being lonely or passing leisure hours, always keep yourself busy into some kind of activities. End that chapter of life which has made you sad, ups & downs are parts of every life. Whatever be the reason of your heartbreak, never think negative. Always keep in mind that : "The person who doesn't care for your feelings -- can't enter into your mind too". So don't waste your time in thinking of him/her.

Well considering there shouldn't have been an affair in the first place, the best way to get over it would to keep busy and keep your mind occupied. It will take time but eventually it will get easier. Good Luck

Spend a great deal of time with friends and family. If need be, consult professional counseling. No matter what, get reacquainted with you and meeting your needs. DON'T BLAME YOURSELF!
