the uber-libs have no honor.. nor do they have the intestinal fortitude to fight for their country...
so hopefully a draft would eliminate them from our country....
But the thing is... recruitment is at over 100% of what is requested... there will not be adraft... we are still an all volunteer military

It will not grow at all. Pierre Elliot Trudeau is long since in his grave. The current government of Canada is Conservative (albeit a minority government), led by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Mr. Harper does not have a philosophical grudge against his nation's closest ally and largest trading partner. I suspect any such "refugee" would be promptly turned around at the border. If not, his visa request would almost certainly be denied upon expiration of his six month visitor period.

Canada will no longer take draft escapees. Canada has high immigration standards. Escaping the draft of your country is not on the checklist for reasons of immigration.

I really only see one possible concern here.
Unlike the traitors who ran off to Canada during the Viet Nam war, I only hope we have the common sense and resolve to make damn sure that when they turn their backs on the United States this time - it's a one way ticket!

I am a Democrat. The draft means you go not me. You are not in Iraq now are you? Now check your facts. How many Generals have died out of 3029 dead in Iraq? How many officers? Do some research on that subject. Generals like George Casey get to "cut and run" in Iraq, then Bush permotes those that are failures.

That would be up to Canada to decide if they will allow illegal immigrants. After looking at the problems that this issue has caused our country, I see no reason why they would allow it.

Whose we? I'm not scared of the draft, I just think it's the wrong way to man the military.
Thanks for your enlightened point of view. You have expanded the horizons of everyone that has read your thought-provoking and mentally-stimulated question. You are a true credit to your species.

Hell,Let's reinstate it and see, I can't think of a better way to determine the true cowardice of a person, and while we're at it ,Let's post all of the retreated young chickens full names and prior addresses on public view, for all to see and it'll give them something to tell their grand children about..."THE GREAT ESCAPE"...

None. Most Americans would fight instead of going to Canada.
