some may be treated with a protective film that would make the dye go blotchy, you can tell by dipping the whole shoe into a bucket of water for 2 seconds and if the satin gets uniformly wet then it can be dyed (shake dry and stuff with towel straight away to protect shoe structure)

I would not attempt to dye them.
