I have a tea cup chihuahua, a cat and a turtle
The dog was breed for me $250 bucks
The cat was free, I rescued him
The turtle Litterally feel out of the sky from a hawk who couldn't hang tight. She is a pond turtle and now she has her own private oasis (huge tank) in my living room and is the most spoiled turtle in the world

i have 4 rats, 2 cats and 4 dogs. more often than not i got them from the pound or from a person who could no longer keep their pet. adoption fees at the shelters in jacksonville are between 50 and 80 dollars. and most of the pets i adopted from their owners were free.

I have two...a puppy and a kitten.
Got the kitten at the local shelter for $120 or so
Got the purebred Chow puppy with a champion-filled pedigree at a breeder I found at the AKC and national chow club online. She lives about an hour away. Cost was over $1000.

I have a little black dog named Baxter.
I used to work at a Property Management office that was right next to a vacant lot. One day, I noticed someone had tied they're dog up in the lot, with a rope around it's neck like a noose. So every time he moved, the rope would get tighter and tighter around him. I took him home with me that day. I love him.

yes 2 dogs payed over 1200 each for them and 2 cats they were free and kids well they just popped up
oh wait you said pets not just things that eat and dont do anything around here

I have a solid black Chow/Rockwell mix.His mother was a full blooded chow[given to me by a friend] and his dad a full blooded Rockwell[neighbors dog].He is so black, that you can't see him at night,except for his teeth.If you see his teeth,don't run,stand perfectly still,he "CAN" catch you! We paid $500.00 for him to be trained as a guard dog and he earns his keep..You can go anywhere in my yard,but not on the steps or porch.LOL That is his territory.
However,he is so gentle and loving with kids.He was trained never to harm a child. I am safe when he is around!

I have a cockateil .... He was given to me but in stores .. (they sell for about $90.00... considering that it is tame I am guessing a good $125.00 for him)
Oh yeah I have 6 goldfish .... cost a few bucks
My son threw pingpong balls into goldfish jars to win them at our state fair
