Four days after sex is way too early for a test to give an accurate result. The best time to test is at least two weeks after a missed period, and a blood test done by a doctor is the most accurate way of testing. Two weeks gives the body enough time to produce an adequate amount of pregnancy hormone that is detected by a test. So please have a test done at the right time.

The fact of the matter is this: IF you are pregnant and assuming you didn't miscalculate your period date, there is only about a 20% chance that the pregnancy hormone levels in your urine would be high enough to register on the test if taken before your period is missed. Therefore if the test is taken too early, it WILL be a waste of time and money, but hey - it's YOUR time and money, so do what you want.
If you're considering taking an early test so as to determine whether or not to use MAP (morning after), you really shouldn't bother. By the time a pregnancy would register with a HPT, the MAP would be ineffective.
If however, you're stressing about a few days for the sake of considering an abortion, a few days will NOT make that much difference.
BTW, I'm not trying to be harsh; these are the facts.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

most ppl dont even worry about being pregnant untill they miss a period. and the earliest test that can be taken is the first response and its only 5 days before your missed period. id wait 4 days after unprotected sex the sperm would just now be fertilizing the egg if any made it to your egg. depending on rather you was fertile or not. i say go on with your regular day to day stuff and if you miss your next period then take a test but till then i wouldnt worry about it. and if your period is due at the end of this week and you had unprotected sex that would be 9 days before the end of your monthly cycle more than likely you missed your fertile days. but maybe not.but its usually 14 days before your next period is due is when your most fertile.

I think there is no harm in taking a test now, even if it is unaccurate, might put your mind at rest. But if it shows negative i would take another test after you period whether you miss it or not, just to be sure. You can sometimes still have a period!!! Best of luck to you, worrying times huh! hope you get the result you want. hugs.

A pregnacy test will generally not work unless done after the due date of the period, so the answer is dont buy the test until you have actually missed a period;

Being this early only a blood test would tell. wait until you miss your period by a week or 2 before you take a regular test.

Just wait until the weekend and don't stress out about it. If you are feeling well and all, I don't think there's anything to worry about. Remember, stressing out about this will only delay your period. If you are paranoid, take a test after the weekend anyways, just to ease your mind. (Always play it safe so you have nothing to worry about, hun.)
Look into seeing Planned Parenthood. They offer free exams and birth control. I go and get my meds there. They have wonderful staff :) (I am kinda anti-Planned Parenthood since they do support pro-choicers but they do offer free birth control and it is free! lol)

It won't hurt for you to take one now but keep in mind that if it is negative and you still don't start your period when it is due then do another one because there are many more false negative tests than false positive. I hope you get the results you want.
