Accessing an account that is not yours is agaisnt the law under the Computer Missuse Act. You can contact the Police for the above reason, also contact MSN, if they do not sort it out, they are not providing appropriate support.

MSN can tell who has accessed what account by tracing them via their IP and then to their ISPand if the police are involved they can get personal information and arrest people.

Scary eh?

yes they report it. Because Accessing another's email address without knowlege is basically hacking their files or electronic fraud. Because of the wire tap clause thingy that the government issued. If it is a personal matter, the parties involved can decide if legal action is required. Who knows, mistakes happen?

Have you been snooping, eh?

MSN will probably tell him that no-one else has looked at his mails, only his computer. He'll then put 2 and 2 together and you'll be busted.

If he's reported it to MSN, in all likelihood, they'll ignore him anyway. My friend once reported that someone had hacked her MSN account and never even heard back from them!

Just make sure if you open an email you mark it as (put it back to) 'unopened' again once you have read it! I suspected that someone was reading my email, so i just changed my password. That works.

I think the way it works is they check into it and log whatever they find. They will not notify the owner of any action though.
