What about the same question for basketball, baseball, hockey, and any other sport?

Yes, however they would stuggle in certain areas. The toughness ,however, would not be a problem -- playing with leather on their heads for protection, they would be the toughest players on the field, however i think they would lack speed and the knowledge of our knew tactics, I am talking like the DeAngelo Hall speed and the Peyton Manning knowledge---NFL--------

The games may have evolved to be faster, but todays athletes are pampered compared to guys from the past. Remember when pro leagues first started most guys were working regular jobs and played sports in their spare time. They didn't have personal trainers and assistants and hordes of doctors making sure they were ok. I think the older guys were definitely tougher.

All the old schoolers would have to do is trade the leather helmets in for new ones and put on some Under Armour. Hell yes they could play with these pre-Madonnas. They might not be quite as big and fast, but they would be meaner, tougher and have bigger nuts.
