I'm guessing you mean that your property is 250 feet wide, rather than 250 square feet. An acre is 43,560 square feet, and 2*43560/250 = 348.48. So the property needs to be 348.48 feet deep.

An acre has 43,560 square feet total. Two acres would be 87,120 square feet. Take the total square feet in two acres, and divide this number by 250 feet (you have in width on the front of property). 87,120/250 = 348.48 feet back to the end of two acres.

If you have 250 square feet, you're way short of an acre. An acre is roughly 40,000 square feet,or 200'X200' If your property is 250' wide then you would need to go back roughly 320'

Treat you property like a square. Multiply the width in feet by the depth in feet. This will give you the area of your property in square-feet (ft^2). Next convert : 1 ft^2 = .00002296 acres.
Also, you might want to revise your question. You need to state how wide your property is. "250 square feet across" is ambiguous because you are using terms of area to describe width.

348.48 feet, if you meant 250 LINEAR feet across the front of the property. Not square feet.
348.48 x 250 = 87,120 square feet, which is exactly two acres.

An acre is 43560 square feet.
43560 * 2 = 87120 square feet.
87120 / 250 = 348.5 feet.
There is a very useful bit of freeware called "Convert" available at www.joshmadison.com that is helpful for all sorts of unit conversions you might run across.
