Yahoo Answers, if it has confirmed one suspicion above all else, is my impression that the art of writing is dying rapidly in the United States. There are many profound questions that are posted on Yahoo Answers, that merit deep contemplation, some time spent deliberating, and definitely an elaborate response, but most of the time people respond with curt and trite expressions bereft of meaning.
The idea of a sound response, for most Yahoo respondents, to an assertion, is either meeting the question with a dismissive tone, an ad hominem attack, or simplistic response worthy of a 5 year olds brain.
If it is one thing that I have learned from Yahoo Answers is that cogent reasoning, mature rebuttals, and just plain common sense are not so common.

That in 2007 there is still a few people who strive on racism and biggotry, but mostly behind closed doors (made up names and faces of avatars). I also have learned there is still some really loving, caring, kind and considerate people out there and you should not be so quick to judge.

Ive learned that it's easier to get an answer true to opinion from those who have no emotional connection with you. But in the end find that they answer what you subconsciously knew all along.

I have learned about fractal geometry, astronomy. mathematics, the golden mean, divine proportions, geometry in nature, integers, whole numbers, rational number, irrational number, but I have also learned that people can ask stupid questions

there is a lack of humor in the world
there is an abundance of hate and jealousy
but there are still a lot of good people out there that still are the majority
