Argh. Why do ignorant people with no idea what they're talking about answer these questions? (Answer: free points.) Stop guessing, people!

The sea is blue because water absorbs more strongly in the red part of the spectrum than in the blue part. This is a weak phenomenon, so we can't detect it in a bowl of water, but with a large enough body, we can.

As to these "reflecting the sky" people, they've obviously never been diving - if they have, they'd know that everything is blue-tinted due to absorption of other parts of the spectrum.

Other colors in sea water are usually the result of particulates, produced by living mater. The Red Sea contains a kind of algae giving it that color, and most northern seas are greenish or dark because of seaweeds.

a pollutant is a substance that is harmful for lilfe.
'no pollution' does not mean that there is nothing else in that water then h2o. there are minerals, and chemical elements, microscopical life-forms(like algae) wich are the natural components of the natural water, and may vary in time, giving that effect.
