The universe is a big place. This is not a good example of why not to believe in god. Maybe you should specify that the two headed dildo monster is omnipotent and can listen to everyone in the world and even respond to their ridiculous prayers for cupcakes on their birthday

I think that it's possible the UFO thing is one of of or two of two things. The first is that before the advent of flying machines such as planes, I don't know that there were as many reports of so-called unidentified flying objects. It could be that the reports correlate culturally and sociologically with aeroplanes and the like. The other thing could be that what are perceived as UFOs are in fact human aircraft, perhaps aircraft that is being tested under confidentiality by defense companies. Lets think about the Stealth bomber. Imagine what that would be like to see if you'd never read or seen it on TV!
