They paid billions to send our troops off to war and then pass resolutions stating that they don't support them. Could someone please explain?

Sure - Democrats have NEVER passed a resolution EVER stating that they do not support our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. It just has not, is not, and never will happen. They, along with many diplomatic and military leaders, do not approve of the policies set by Bush (along with over 70% of Americans). There is a difference between the failed strategies of an elected official and the brave men and women fighting the war.

Hope that helps with your confusion.

They aren't saying they don't support the troops, the resolution says they don't support the escalation of the war and sending yet more troops into harms way.

Wrong. If anyone hates our troops, it's the President and Republicans in Congress. They lied (or were entirely incompetent) in justifying the invasion in the first place, have compromised our troops' safety while pissing away billions on no-bid contracts to favored but incompetent contractors that have failed to deliver, appointed politicians instead of military experts to manage the war, and now their "solution" to the mess our deposed Secretary of Defense created is to send more of our children into the line of fire in a country teetering on the edge of civil war- an action that may very well push it over the edge given that Iraqis didn't exactly love Americans in the first place and increasingly resent our meddling in their internal affairs.

Liberals don't hate the troops- we hate the war that is putting them in harms way. If Iraq directly attacked us then I would support the war but they didn't- they were no threat to us. The war in Iraq is senseless, putting our young soldiers out there to die for no cause is absurd. Frankly, I believe that anyone who DOES support this war DOESN"T support the troops. I Support the Troops- I wan't them to come home to their families safely.

I think that anyone who supports this war should be fighting in it- ALL republicans should sign up and encourage their sons and daughters to do the same.

Yes, LT.Dan, it WAS terrorists who took down the World Trade Center- BUT it was terrorists from another country _NOT Iraq, NOT Saddam HUssein, it was Osama Bin Laden behind the terrorist attacks. So why are we fighting in Iraq??? Looks like George Bush led us into the Iraq war under false pretenses....is THAT the truth you're talking about??

They don't hate our troops. They are still fighting the 2000 election. The election process in Florida was in place for 20 years - same method of voting, same deadlines - no problem because no election was ever so close. To the best of my knowledge, and you can correct me here if I'm wrong, when Gore lost, he wanted to recount only those counties in which he did well. Pres. Bush wanted to recount all. My non-political common sense tells me it would have been more fair to count all. Hanging chads, dimpled chads, pokes on paper - what a mess. Three (3) independent investigations showed Pres. Bush the winner - close - but the winner. The democrats just can't get over it. Pity.

More importantly,How could anyone with higher than a third grade education, think that" not supporting an non-winnable effort",be classified the same as "not supporting the troops"A rather shallow attempt to "spin" the obvious

Pass resolutions that they don't support them? Do you have evidence of this?

Could YOU please explain? Is this a real question or an accusation?

You have enlightened me as to the depth and breadth of your intellectual capability. Thank you.

Clearly, sending them off to die in Iraq for phony reason is the Republican way of show love. How Christians of them.

We don't hate our troops. Please don't lump all democrats into one group. I just don't care for the way Bush is handling this war. I support our troops, several of them are family members, I just don't support the war.
