First step is to eliminate the fractions by multiplying each term by the denominator.

I am assuming the first term is (3/4) x - 6 = x (if not, the same principle applies).

so, multiply each term by 4.

3x -24 = 4x

combine terms (variables on one side, integers on the other)

3x - 4x = 24

simplify/combine

-x = 24
x = -24

3/4x-x=6
-1/4x=6 |: -1/4
x= -24

or is the 3 divided by the whole 4x-x on paper?
