Eh, when my computer's running way too slow, I get frustrated and throw it out the window...it goes faster then! Sorry...bad joke. Have you done disk cleanup? Run antivirus (if it's on the computer)? Call your friend and tell her the problems you are having and ask her if she experienced the same thing. Maybe you might want to consider getting a new computer or getting your old one back. Good Luck.

With cable I am a little surprised that it is slow, but some of it may have to do with your computer. We need to know the specs - your processor, motherboard, how much RAM you are using. The circuitry in your computer may make it run slow because if older it may be built like a "state road" vs nowadays "interstate highway" for getting info from one area to another. Another thought is you may want to call your cable provider and ask them for advice. Peace.

go to control panel, sytem settings, advanced, an then in the first box (performance) click settings and select "optimise for performance". That will switch off all unnecessary visual characteristics and devote more of your computer's resources to functioning quicker. This can speed up your processor by upto 20% and you can always switch back if you dont like it.

get more memory? go to crucial.com and do the crucial scan and it will tell you exactly what you need and if you can add to it. or you could edit the windows services to cut down on memory usage, but do your research first so you don't mess up you PC. Spyware and Adware scans would probably help too, and running fewer programs at once. All good things.

Try to reformat it. Maybe the cable connector you used has a virus or you disconnect it improperly.
