Why do libs sneer at me and call me an Uncle Tom for being a black Republican?

Because they want you to remain dependent on something/someone--that way they can buy your vote. No one likes a successful, independent minority--unless of course you're an ultra rich celebrity.

Actually if you read the book, Uncle Tom is a hero, it was only later that people who had not read it, used it as an epithet for people who had had the spirit beaten out of them, or who assisted the abusers of their own in that abuse, for personal benefit.

By that second definition most of the Republican party is Uncle Toms for the entire American People. There was a time when the Republicans were the Liberal Party, as the only successful third party they stood against Slavery when no one else would, (they created the Elephant as a mascot to remind themselves that only Democrats were the racist traitors and the Republicans would never forget that) and then again under Teddy Roosevelt they beat back Mega-Corporations who sought to enslave everyone,

Those times are now long ago and the Elephant has become the mascot of all they were supposed to remember to be against.

So now it is the Republicans who can be openly racist, as proven in Virginia and Tennessee and still get at least half the folk to vote for them, even as they sprayed themselves with their own vitriol.

So anyone who can't see them for what they are, is way more of an uncle tom than Uncle Tom ever was, no matter what their Identity politics is.

Black republicans have been observed as uncle toms long in the previous Obama took workplace. the assumption derives the the black community that may no longer able to settle for those the blacks who dont think of lock step with the way the classic black community thinks.

GOP or Dems, they are all crooks! They will twist facts, lie, cheat, steal!! I guess if a man is based on either being an asset or liability you could guess which party is yours!! Now I didn't say which way I was, but I bet some of you are already upset- typical bipartisan rhetoric- go your own way, make your own life and have less govt! If you like to give yopu are one way, if you like to receive, then I guess you go the other way! I for one work my *** off and pay a lot in taxes- I would much rather just get social programs so I can hang out alll day!

Liberals will hound people and call them racist for not voting for Obama,but at the same time call a black conservative an Uncle Tom or Aunt Jemima. Go figure!

Probably because Republicans have never done a single thing to help blacks. Not even Lincoln, who just wanted war recruits from some slave states. Being black and Republican is a thing of real confusion.

It is a typical tactic used to gain power by making people feel guilty for their views. If you notice the Liberals generally blame the US first or attack there own race. I think most liberals are compassionate people with some obsession with guilt. There is no need to feel guilty for having been blessed with a good life just try and pass on some of the wealth to someone else.

I really dont think they do, but no intelligent person can understand why someone would want to be a part of a party that doesn't like the color of their skin. Republicians are racist, thats no secret and they have never hidden the fact they dont like minorities of any kind. So I wouldn't call you an uncle tom, just not a well informed person.

Because many libs are too quick to judge people even when they don't know them or what they are all about. Let them sneer as that is their problem. I believe just like you do in being your own man that doesn't need anyone else to tell them how they should live.
