Not especially. Yes, upper division courses are harder than lower division ones. However, you should enjoy the subject of your major. So, an enjoyable class should make the class a little easier than some subject you totally hate but had to take for GE requirements.

I started taking upper division courses my freshman year. Since I spread out the upper division courses, I really didn't notice any big change.

By the time you get to this point in college, you probably have a strong interest in your subject matter, thus you find it more interesting thus much easier!! Afterall you are pursuing something that you are interested in right! If someone tells you that this or that class is tough, it is probably because they failed and are looking to blame anything or anyone other than themselves for their failure- negative person- so always be positive!
