Is it normal for a guy to do this??
After my gymnastics meet I went to my b/f's house and we were watching tv. I ended up falling asleep in his arms and he placed his hand on my stomach.(it didn't wander too far) He knew I wasn't fully asleep otherwise he wouldn't have done it. Is it normal??
He is the first guy I have trusted since I was raped. My friend says this isn't normal. Is it??
My friend also says it is odd for a guy to put his arms around you and pick you up and spin you when he hasn't seen you in a while or when I win.
Is my friend seeing something I don't or is she paranoid??

It doesn't really matter if it is 'normal' or not. For most situations, there is no such thing as 'normal'. The real question lies in your comfort level. If this guy is making you feel uncomfortable, then you need to let him know. If he cares about you, then he will want you to be comfortable around him.

I don't see anything strange with picking someone up and spinning them around. I think you and your friend may be over-analyzing situations.

Your bf should be someone you can be open with. Just talk to him... ask what was up with the hand on the stomach. Best of luck!

Acceptable. Your friend is paranoid. It sounds nice that he was lightly affectionate with you even while you were asleep. Putting his hand on your stomach is nice, caring touch. It wouldn't be right if you were half asleep and he tried other things. Plus, if you were at a meet and you won etc...it's great that he picks you up and spins you or if he hasn't seen you in awhile. He's proud to be with you and glad to see you!!! Since your traumatic situation took place, you have every right to "feel out" the situation. If he hasn't done anything to make you feel weird, suspicious etc...I'd say for now you're alright. Just go with the flow!

It is normal, I don't know where people get these ideas. If you would expect these type of actions from a girl, then why wouldn't you expect them from a guy?

He places his hand on your stomach area probably because he sees it moving when you are breathing in and out. He picks you up and spins you when he sees you because he is happy to see you and feels joyous. He is fascinated in a positive way with you and by you, and shows it.

I think you're a very lucky girl to have a guy that shows so much affection towards you. Plenty of guys would run a mile if they found out their girlfriend had been raped. I presume you are always on edge and wondering "will it happen again?" This guy loves you - enjoy it and let him in to your life.

I think your friend is worried about you and overly concerned, she's over protective but at least she is looking out for you.

Good luck!

Sounds to me like you have a good guy and your friend is jealous.

My boyfriend always puts his arms around me or on my stomach when I'm sleeping, I love it! and he picks me up and spins me around too. Nothing at all wrong with that.

Now if your boyfriend was groping you while sleeping than yeah be concerned.

I think your friend is just jealous or maybe she has something against your boyfriend that you just don't know about.

Stay with him, if something does happen well he's only a boyfriend and you can always break it off.

What exactly is your complaint? If you had said to the guy...'take your hand off my stomach' would he have done so? then i would say he is trustworthy guy....he could have just gone for the goods first....now THAT would ba an #$#hole! lol picking you up...he must be a big guy and you must be petite...i have a friend who is barely 5' tall and EVERY one of her B/F's has picked her up.

Well not everyone is the same maybe i just want it make you feel more comfortable, and in an other way he just was showing his love to you. yes other person from the outside could see things that happend around ous and we just don't see it, but very careful, talk to your boyfriend and let him know how do you feel about. look at his eyes when he answer you back. Good Luck!!!!!

Yes that is completely normal. The only thing abnormal is that it was only your stomach! I'm guessing you and your friend especially are quite young. maybe shes just being protective, but as every other answer on here will assure you that is quite normal!

Wow!!! Sounds like he is a really decent guy. If you told him about the rape maybe he just wants to really respect you and let you know that he is there for you. Sometimes just being in someone's arms makes us feel secure and that is all we need sometimes.

tell ur friend to mind her own business!! i think it's teriffic that your new guy seems to be so into you and respects you. if you really are concerned about his behavior, i would talk to some of his friends or possibly one of his ex-girlfriends and see if that's just the way he is or if something is going on. but, as long as you aren't feeling uncomfortable by it...tell ur friend to kick rocks!! some guys just show their affection differently and your friend has no right to make you paranoid about innocent touching and flirting.
