You contact the court and explain what happened or they will put out a warrant for your arrest.

If it's a criminal matter, a bench warrant was probably issued for your arrest. Call Crown NOW and explain and try to get that warrant vacated or you'll be picked up for fail to attend and possibly held pending your next date. That is especially likely if you have a history of fail to attend and breaches of conditions. Be ready to back up your illness allegations with some medical evidence.

If it's a civil matter, the court either booted it off the list so it will be heard another time or the court heard the other party(ies) in your absence and made an order. Call the other party(ies) and find out what happened.

It is very likely a warrant will be issued for your arrest. You should contact the court as soon as possible and tell them - preferably in writing - that you were ill and unable to go to court. Make arrangements to attend at the NEXT AVAILABLE DATE FOR THE COURT. This is probably tomorrow. Be early, be neatly dressed and be polite. If you get to court within the week, they probably will not have had time to complete the paperwork to issue a warrant.

Do NOT make this a habit! Go to court and get it over with.

You'd better have a receipt from the emergency room to back up your claims of being "very ill". A warrant will be issued for your arrest, so you should contact the court immediately to explain, present documentation, and get the court date reset.

The information shared by you is quite insufficient to answer - the result / its remedy all depends on several inputs like :-
The nature of the case - Civil /Criminal
Your status to the case - Plaintiff / Defendant or Complainant /accused.
Is this the 1st time you missed the presence or what
Whether your counsel represented the matter to the court or not.
Normally no court will take any decision in hurry.
Be cool.

Unless you made every effort to contact someone or your attorney, and even then, you will probably have a warrant for your arrest. So, to your benefit, unless they come and pick you up (depending why you had to be in court), if you feel better tomorrow, go to the court and plead your case, before they pick you up in cuffs and then you have no choice to plead your case???

It all depends on what your court appearance was for. I know it is something that one would not want to mess with. Give them a call ASAP and explain.
