Saw a movie that had words magnificent and obsession - very strange with american exec married to french woman - she and child are kidnapped - car runs off bridge - thought to be drowned - he never remarries but meets woman in Italy (painter) who looks exactly like wife - have affair - going to be married and discovers she is really his daughter and the plot was hatched all those years ago when wife and daughter were kidnapped (wife killed - daughter sent to convent) - it is driving me crazy that I can't remember the real title of this movie - and when I ask about it people seem to think I've made it up! Main actor was someone like a Cary Grant and the French actress has been in other movies but never in the lead .. petite and very pretty. Does anyone know what I'm talking about????
