He could go on to win 3 Super Bowls and it still would be hard to debate. Everybody has their own opinions. To me, it's unfair to use Superbowl wins as a major factor. Since the best QB ever needs a decent team around him to win it all. Archie Manning for example. I think when he retires his name will be up there with the greats but the best ever will be debatable.

Payton hands down. He had the perfect combination of speed, agility and power when he needed it. Jim Brown was great and knew how to win, but he was not blessed with the same physical gifts as Walter Payton. There are a handful of athletes that you can say are not man made, they are born. No amount of practice, training, etc. could have created Walter Payton.

If he wins at least one Superbowl he will probably be #1 or #2 with Joe Montana, but if he does't win one he will be #1 or #2 with Dan Marino as the best to never win the BIG GAME

His stats are great, but the only stat that matters is superbowl wins. To be considered in the company of Montana and Bradshaw he has to win 4 superbowls.

I think he will. He's got a long career left, and he'll surely break a lot more records before then. He's already known as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, I'm sure he'll be one of the best of all time :)

He may be one of them. However, you left out a couple of names. Unitas, Starr, and others.
