With her father's sudden death this 8 YEAR OLD has been thrust into the spotlight as a "spokeperson". IN a way its good it keeps wildlife preservation in the public eye and thats what Steve Irwin's passion and his life and work was about, protecting the animals, but is this a good thing for the little girl? should she be allowed to be a kid and do kid things or has she NATURALLY picked up her Dad's legacy ON HER OWN? she seems very bright and well adjusted but I just can't help but wonder if it isn't expoitation of the child and sacrifcing of her childhood perhaps for monetary reasons to support the family?

The show she's doing was originally written for her and her dad to star in. But then he died, so they kept it going with just her. I think it would have been better with both of them, and it's sad that he had died. I think it's great that she's carrying on her Dad's legacy. Her mom is strong, and I think she'll be ok in the longrun.
:o)

I did not want to go here, because I get upset, but here goes..
I think she is the most well adjusted, bright little girl. It is good for her to keep doing what she already knows to keep her mind healthy and occupied. Terry and Bindy know that Steve would want them to continue on and not give up and let his life's work die with him.. He lives on in Bindy in spirit and I think she has naturally picked up on her Dad's legacy on her own.
I don't think Terry Irwin would ever exploit her child after what they have been through. The Irwins certainly do not need the money, they are obviously propelled and motivated forward by love. Love for the wildlife, and love for the immortally vibrant Steve Irwin dream which they have naturally inherited.
And speaking as an Australian, little does Terry know that she and her family are more Australian than most of us. God bless the Irwins, we will watch over them here for Steve..

I loved Steve Irwin. I think it's amazing how his family is coping with it. Bindi wants to do this. If you every watched "The Crocodile Hunter Diaries" you would see that she was already like this. She feels comfortable on camera and she is as passionate about wildlife as her dad was.

I think she comes across as a very bright child.I think she doing what she believes in & the fact is she is very much like her father on caring for animals. I think she will have a grat future carring on her Dad's name in wildlife the passion is there. As for being in the spotlight she grew up that way.

She is just like her mother. Their glass is half full and they know how lucky they were and are. They thank God for those 12 years and don't you worry about Bindi. She is also just like her Daddy!! He lives on, inside the heart of that child. @8-)

I think she wants to do on her own. She is just too happy and too excite on the interviews not to want to do this.
