Two thumbs-up! Four stars! My very own comforting sound is the sound of a dryer. Ever since I was a child, this sound has lulled me to sleep! It gives me time to think and reflect while I'm under there. When I was a child, I used to go to the hair salon with my mother. When it was time for her to sit under the dryer, I would sit on her lap and fall asleep. Now, I always sit under the dryer when I have a headache! It works wonders! It’s a weird addiction, I know, but I love it! lol

The distant sound of a train at night is one of my most favorite comforting sounds. I like to wake to the train sounds and then fall back into oblivion with the sound of the wheels on the tracks and the low blow of the horn.

However, I also love the sound of the ocean. I like to lay on the beach with my eyes closed as the warm air hits my face, while I listen to the waves rush in. Then some kid runs by kicking up sand in my face and I quickly rise from my reverie. So, much for enjoying my ocean sounds!!

So many things: my 3 month old sleeping, breathing.
My husband's keys in the door. My 14 year old coming home and softly saying, "hi, mom." My toaster popping up, the sound of cars on rain slicked streets, and that little "tink" that lamps make when you turn off the switch to go to sleep.

A trickling stream.

And, belieive it or not (I swear this is true) distant trains in the middle of the night and the sound of a snowplow at 6 a.m.

the sound of the wind making my fishing lines whistle, the low throb of the engine, the waves crashing on the rocks.
(as a package)

Another package:

Fire truck/ambulane sirens, complete with air horn. (and not the crappy electronic kind!)
