I think the responses to this thread are instructional -- and cautionary -- as regards the way in which someone whom everyone admits has little experience, and is brand new to their post, is so totally demonized by the Limbaugh press. Your negative expectations are no more warranted, at this point, than the sunniest projections of great things. You're jumping the gun, guys.

People who hate FDR have swallowed the neocon bait, but are starving from a lack of solid nutritive information and ideas. If you hate it, you call it communist or socialist. The Hoover depression of the 30s required some innovative social deasign, and FDR stepped up to the plate and saved the nation. You wouldn't be here, if not for FDR's help to your great grandparents.

Quite possibly. Her, along with President Hillary Rodham Clinton, will be able to put in some modern government systems, like socialized medicine, which will help our economy enormously.
So far, she is only potentially great, but she has the possibility to go down in history as one of the greatest Americans in the last 100 years.

Nancy Pelosi is not the worst thing to happen to Washington since FDR. That's not to say she's great. FDR was a big government, anti-capitalism, socialist. While, Pelosi is a good break from the bible beating, military over-funding, Republicans, she still sucks cause she will spend too much money like the rest of the politicans..

False. LBJ was (one of) the best _legislators_ to happen to Washington since FDR. Pelosi's great liberal, and it will be fun to see how her leadership evolves after these 100 days, but she's not (yet) a great political hero.

I don't "hate" FDR but your question automatically assumes that FDR was a godsend... and he really wasn't since many of his immediate gratification fixes have led to many of our current problems.
In answer to your question, I honestly don't see it. I find Pelosi to be a hypocritical, devious, Hillary-wannabe.

That depends. Does she plan to deny entry to 950 refugees fleeing a brutal dictator, and put 200,000 Americans into internment camps?

She hasn't really done anything that important besides opposing George Bush when she was minority leader. She probably won't do anything as Speaker either, except promote herself. That's her game.

False. I don't like the republicans in recent years but if Nancy had her way we would be liberal like Europe. I don't want 60-70% of my income going to taxes for social programs. (like europe)
