Yes Bob, smokers do have the right to smoke, but they do not have the right to impose their filthy habit on others. Do smokers realize how much their habit smells?? I can't tell you how many times I've walked past smokers in public and the overpowering stench of ashtray almost made me sick.

Because if it was detrimental to the health of others mankind would have ceased to exist about 6000 or more years ago, man has had smoke in his life since his creation, all we hear today from environmentalists, bleeding hearts, the medical establishment, and so called saviours of the world is how bad our world is, they look for fault and create fear mongering, and for what you say, MONEY for research that is based on the last hundred or so years, city dwellers creat pollution, and that's where environmentalists do their research from, put domes over your cities end of pollution, all this global warming crap of lies are nothing more than fear mongering, if Mr. gloom and doom had his way we all would be living in a cave eating raw meat, where I live the air is clean, and the land pollution free thank you vary much.

Smokers have the right to smoke and we have no right to criticize them. That applies to almost anything. Couch potatoes have the right to allow their bodies to become soft and lazy if they want and people have the right to live on fast food if they like. Same with alcohol, if somebody wants to live in a fog and destroy their health that is their affair and not mine.
I find most perfumes to be at least as offensive as I do cigarettes but I am not trying to have that stank outlawed either. I simply avoid those who stink up the air around themselves. Its not my business what other people decide to do to themselves. There are far too many important things than to concern myself with another person's private life.

I think it's just a poor excuse for a habit that has no purpose or function. Smoking is merely a sign of weakness. People must act tough in an attempt to overcome this image. They fail to realize that not smoking would work much better.
As for that "it makes me feel good" argument, I just can't imagine they wouldn't feel better being healthy. Like I said, it's something they are simply too weak to purge from their lives, so they must make excuses for their behavior. Smoking makes no sense what so ever.
