Some universities may allow a student to enter a graduate program in their Senior Year. This is usually for students staying at the same school. This is more common with master's programs than with PhDs, though. With those programs, the student can ask for a BS or BA after a year or so.

But most PhD programs will require students to have a bachelor's degree before starting the PhD program. A master's degree is not needed for admission to a PhD program. In fact, the top schools do not even admit students who just want a master's degree.

Agrees with Autumn S . My niece wants to be a clinical psycholgist, also, and has just completed her Masters. She'll move on to her PhD next but will, also, need to gain practical experience in related fields. Right now, though, she's working in a bar at a French ski resort as she feels some life experience would be good, too.
