For most inexpensive, designed for home use, router, yes. Since the log is stored in the routers RAM memory, if it losiespower, it loses the log. Check to see if there is an optional for saving to the log to your hard drive (some do, some don't). Or invest in a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) to plug your router into. Then if you lose power, it will switch to the UPS battery and contiue to work for a time without data lose. That is how the "pros" do it.
