50 days is long even for an irregularly long cycle - they usually range from 24 to 35 days or so. Are you sure that you're ovulating? If you haven't tried charting basal temperature or observing cervical mucous for fertile signs, that would be a good place to begin - then you can tell your doctor with relative certainty whether you are or aren't ovulating. From there, s/he will be able to decide whether you need medication to regulate your cycle and whether there is an underlying problem.
My cycles were always irregular as well - usually about 35 days - and I learned that I did not ovulate regularly. As a result, I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and given Clomid (clomiphene) to force ovulation - and therefore menstruation - at appropriate times.
Best of luck to you!

Mine was about 40 days, sometimes longer. My doc said it is normal, every woman is different. I am 5.5 months pregnant right now, so I have not had my period for a while. It just made it more difficult to track my ovulation.

i just had a 41 day cycle. It freaked me out. I went to the store and bought a pregnancy test. since i had been sexually active during those days. It was negative. The day after my test, my period started. My advice is to talk to your doctor.

I do not know why your period would last that long, but I would say you need to go to the doctor immediately. That is way too long for a period.

it usually is 28 to 35 days, but it may vary. if the bleeding is regular, not painful, it is OK
