Which superhero's movie portrayal was horribly miscast?

I still can't get over how bad of a choice for Daredevil Ben Affleck was. Fantastic character, and he deserved a better treatment from Hollywood.

I agree on Affleck, and I actually really like him as an actor. But he is NOT a super hero. I think he could do an action film, in the vein of Training Day, or even Damon movies like The bourne Identity (or his own "Paycheck", which I know did poorly, but I thoguht was quite good). But super hero? No. I don't want to see him in a Die Hard film, either. He should stick to "regular guy in extraordinary situations" roles, in the action genre. I do like him in more cerebral fare, though.

I think that Fantastic Four got it about half right, with Michael Chicklis and Chris Evans. I really like Jessica alba, but she was poorly cast as Sue Storm. I think they should have gone for someone slightly less sexy, which is pretty much ANYONE.

I think some of the BEST casting of a superhero in recent times in Toby Maguire in Spiderman. I liked Brandon Routh as Superman, as well.

I have a couple:

Ron Perlman as Hellboy? No way.

Anna Paquin as Rogue? What was Rogue like 12 when she joined the Xmen? Cmon, that role should have gone to someone at least 20.

Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut? No way.

Perhaps the worst cast of all time is not Ben Affleck but his misses - Jennifer Garner as Elektra? Cmon - anyone would have been better than her.

Stallone was absolutely horrible as Judge Dredd (one of my faves). They should have chosen the guy who appeared in Robocop, because he was used to going through the whole film without his face showing. Judge Dredd NEVER takes off his helmet, and they had Stallone taking it off again and again!

But the all time worst miscast I ever saw was on the old Spider Man tv show. Whoever they used for J. Jonah Jameson was pitiful, he wasn’t angry and irascible, just a tired old man. But to add insult to injury, they cast as the police commissioner someone who visually looked EXACTLY like JJJ!!! Even his voice was not bad! They should have switched the roles. I don’t know, maybe he just couldn’t get into the Jameson character, oslt, but visually he was perfect. What a waste.

5. Iron guy- Uh... 4. Spiderman- It become exceedingly boring in some scenes, others were cool... 3. Batman starts- tremendous pastime. loved Christian Bale in it. 2. The darkish Knight- astounding. It had Christopher Nolan directing it, Heath Ledger in it, and C. Bale! mind-blowing! a million. Kick-***- humorous as hell.

i agree, ben affleck as daredevil? what were they thinking? maybe that was the reason daredevil flopped as a worthy comic book to movie film.

clooney as batman and bruce wayne, that was a bad one also.

there are others i want to see if the part was right for the actors...........robert downey jr as iron man, terrance howard as war machine and nic cage as ghostrider.

You're so right!! It took me a long time to accept Toby Maguire's Spiderman, but my 7 year old niece laid down the law: Tobey's the man. And he is Foooine.
