Or let them keep lliving their sheltered life where noone has been honest with them for whatever reason? Atleast if they know the truth, they might pursue some other career or go to school or something!!

Yes, they should be told the truth, but it doesn't have to be rude and humiliating. Simon, can be very rude. I believe he does that for the rating.
It is all for the rating. We have the nice, the rude and then neutral judge. It's not for the benefit of the contestant, it is all for the ratings. If they are so bad, they don't have to air them. just like the old times, and the gladiators comes to mind, some people like to see others suffer and humiliated. That is never OK. It can be done in a civilized manner.

One could just say sorry you aren't what we are looking for or something. It is not rejecting them or telling them they aren't talented but the way that they tell them and laugh at them.

Also one should not be attacked for non singing traits like the girl called a giraffe, the 16 year old told she looked like a sack of potatoes and you keep cramming in more potatoes as she has to go back home to high school and be relently teased and may even commit suicide if it is strong enough, being told you are too big for the stage, and being mocked for your physical appearance as Kenneth Briggs was (Bush baby) who looks that way because he has Aarskog's Syndrome or the person (red) used and humiliated to his family's horror due to his mental retardation (accoring to his mom).

This kind of stuff has no place in the show, especially when it is all done for ratings and one feelings are not taken into account or its reprocussions on a person's life.

If someone is ugly or has flaws that might inhibit success in a chosen field one can say it in a kind and loving way and AI does not do this in the least. Although some of the strong ones can take it and are happy to earn they don't have it, some of not able to take that kind of honestly especially if accompanied by a personal attack.

Note that they can do this as they rejected "bush boy's chubby friend who was mildly autistic (according to news articles) in a way that was not devastating and was encouraging. They can do it in a nice waym, but they usually don't..as they love the shock value and the press it gives them.

yes, they shd.Because some people have this false idea about singing. Its not a joke if someone want to perform on national level, in this case International level. One should be qualified enough to get the chance. So its good to tell people what they are gud at. If they get the false idea that they can sing(but they can't) then they won't move in life. I totaly agree with Simon.
He knows who is good. Because of him and other 2 judges we hv some wonderful singers today.

Oh God the truth is so much better than lying to these crazy people. I love for someone to be brutally honest. I love Simon because he says what everyone is thinking in his snotty british accent. These people are so delusional that sometimes they need to be brought back down to earth.

Yes i think it is better to be honest, but i've noticed that even when alot of people are told they suck they don't believe it!! Maybe they need to go home and watch themselves on tv to see just how pathetic they looked.

Yes, so they can stop wasting their time pursuing a career they have no chance at getting. And find a real job.

Yes tell the truth. However some people just don't get it and come back for more. I guess its denial of being a sucky singer.
