Because you are stressed out about NOT sleeping. The more you think about it, the worse you will be.
Leave the computer alone, go to bed and practice some deep breathing techniques. Just breath in deep and out, try to hold each for a few seconds. Next, think about sleep. Imagine yourself sleeping, just lay there and say to yourself, I am going to sleep.

Close your curtains, make sure it is very quiet and get in bed, get comfy, close your eyes. Then start counting sheep. Always works for me!
