For every 5 silly answers one may be the one you want to receive or someone may agree with you. I think you will find all ages enjoying the chance to have their say.

Being a a woman of "a certain age" (love that French subtlety!). I'd have to say that sometimes some very interesting answers arise in some of the categories, but then there come other questions that are more or less just for fun. Then again, there are some that just don't seem to warrant any kind of serious or thoughtful answer.
I know I've been criticized for answering questions in this category because some feel I'm encouraging laziness in students who ought to be consulting their textbooks for the answers to the questions they're posting, but I also believe that sometimes a teacher in a classroom can't give a full explanation of a topic (been there, done that) and that sometimes a fresh point of view is helpful.
It's always interesting to see how some people interpret questions as well. You get some interesting ones in the categories of Philosophy and Religion and Spirituality, and some in the category of Family that can run the gamut from silly to heartbreaking.
I've been on this site for over six months, and I've seen a wide variety of questions and answers. It just makes me think of how marvelously diverse we human beings are.

I am 48. I found Yahoo by accident. I originally came on here to ask Christians to use the power of prayer and pray for our Freedom by using 1John1:9 and 2nd Chron 7:14. I know that this is not Rand S section but I just saw an interesting question about what makes you go forward in life and I answered it. I am going back to R&S now. Peace out.

I would say all sorts - all ages, nationalities, creeds, etc. Some who like to collect points, some who just like to help others, and some who enjoy the opportunities for serious debate. I find the variety interesting, although sometimes the bigotry of some participants can be depressing. When I've asked questions I've usually had mostly helpful, serious answers, with the occasional funny one which makes me laugh. Unfortunately there does seem to be a small minority of participants whose contributions are nasty and cruel. C'est la vie!

I try to be helpful and articulate in the answers I provide. Generally I've been providing answers in the catagory of books because that is where my interests lie. I'm a 36 year old legal assistant/writer. I'm not quite sure what the points system is about either, outside of being an incentive to spend more time answering questions.

I'm 49 i came on here to ask a Q about my dog and got some good advice. It can be helpful apart from the idiots but most people try to help. I've also tried to answer a few to help but not for points I haven't a clue what the points are about , maybe I should ask ?

I think it depends on the questions. If one asks what is perceived to be a silly question then one can possibly get a not so good answer. If it is a well thought out question usually one gets some intereting, useful answers.

People of all ages use this, some a bit dim and some a bit smart, you will get good answers and some stupid answers, myself I don't worry about the points, they don't really give you very much benefit any way.

i imagine some each body is purely interested in factors and solutions to three questions are infantile. relies upon on the question as well i imagine. regrettably you'll continually get that, you should examine by ability of the best ones. continually %. a perfect answer so as that human being is conscious you helped them.
