Yes I have all the volumes on full but for some reason the second I am playing a DVD from a shop, it gets so quiet I find myself putting on the subtitles. Is there a way of tricking to laptop into making in louder or is there a programme I should use?
I'm using PowerDVD to watch.
Thank you.

I don't want to add speakers. Music plays very loud on my lap top anyway, so it's not the speakers. And I want to fix this as I am trying to watch films on my laptop on airoplains with earphones; and they are too quiet too. Do I reall have to rip the DVD to my hard drive each time befor watching them to view them?

hey there.
i occasionally have this problem too.
what i do is to try different media players till i find one that plays the audio okay. you can download different media players for free.
i use divx, windvd, windows media player, nero showtime and powerdvd. you can do a googlesearch for free d/l sites for these.
i can only assume that it's the different audio codecs that make some movies play perfectly well on some players and not so well on others.
i'm not sure if video inspector works if the film's not stored on the hard drive, but it's maybe worth a try if all else fails!
there's a free programme called 'video inspector'. you can d/l this and then use it to check your file. it will then tell you if your computer has the correct audio and video codecs that you need to play this file. it's: http://www.kcsoftwares.com/index.php?download
if you don't have the right codecs you can get them at: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Codec_Pack_All_in_1.htm
hope this helps :o)

Im not sure of what the software you need to get is called but im certain you need to get some extra software. Maybe you need to get a sound-card. In the meantime, try updating windows on the laptop. This could very well work for you. Best of luck mate, i know this can be a bit frustrating.

Apart from the obvious shouts of "play it on your DVD player or games console" there isnt that much you can do if all volumes are on full... can you hear any volume at all? If not maybe you need to download an audio codex such as DivX or XVid to help...
Hope you get it working!

Does skill DVD have its very own quantity administration. this could shrink the quantity to the pc even however the living house windows quantity administration is at its optimal point. it extremely is truthfully the case with InterVideo DVD. have you ever tried taking part in your DVD by living house windows Media participant - this might help.
