Usually something silver is given at a Christening. I would think probably more so if you are the godparent.

For my god daughter i got her a few typical things like a baby box and a little outfit but babies always get things like this so try getting something different too, i also got her a little guardian angel too which was really cute and then this hand drawn pic (sort of like a scetch) of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet sat on a bridge together (the classic Winnie too not with his t shirt on!) which was nice as it was different and not just the typical christening present and everyone commented on how lovely an idea it was

it will be a effective gesture. I understand in on the prompt's international, being a Godparent doesn't propose what it use to. interior the former days, a Godparent's function become to be particularly responsible for the non secular upbringing of the toddler. it is more suitable of only a ceremonial element now days. The present will be something like a present card for a fave eating position, or a effective image body to carry the infant's christening image...

Depends on your budget, but some places do personalised books. Little General Trading (www. gltc.co.uk) do great adventure stories for £13.99. At the other extreme, Aspreys do leather bound stories with the option to engrave the baby's name on the cover. I think books are absolutely fab Christening presents that last forever.
Hope it helps

Yes, you should buy a present. Silver or gold is often given in forms of jewelery or memorabilia because it is a lasting present.

I still have a silver cup engraved with my name since my Christening and my friend has a bracelet also with her name engraved on it. My daughter has a gold necklace with a praying angel on it.

Yes, you should buy a present. You could make it something religious such as a cross, a bible or a rosary. Or you could do something more personal. My family is big on jewelry, my godmother gifted me with a bracelet (which I still have 29 years later) and my cousins godmother bought her diamond earrings. Just go with what you can afford and what you think is appropriate.
