Being a Canadian on this forum, I must say that I have learned a TON about general attitudes of the American people - assuming this is indicative of the general public. What has astounded me the most is the partisan politics and bitter animosity between Reps and Dems! Its shocking! How in the world can you claim to be the greatest nation in the world, when you are so divided amongst yourselves?? And the other thing I've noticed is that the loyalty to the party is blind and unwavering. Loyalty is a good thing, in any case - but not when it is unquestioning and, in many cases, uninformed!
The general perception I get of Republicans - from this forum - is that they are small minded, bible thumping bullies - who do not move an inch from their position. They are intolerant of anyone or anything that is different from them. Best examples are the issues of abortion and immigration - complete and total intolerance. To the point of violence! And they have painted Dems as socialist schemers with an agenda to destroy the United States! If it weren't all so sad, it would be laughable.
Thanks for the question...and the ability to share my observations. No offence was intended to anyone...

They aren't. Many Republicans are Christians as well, but it is not a requirement for being registered in the G.O.P. Neither is racism, though this particular trait seems to be lingering in many Americans in all political parties.

The better question here is why are Demonrats Satanic and Rascist? When they seek to divide America up into ethnic minorities they are intentionally pitting American's against each other.
Take African-American for example: You're either African or you're American. End the Continental Confusion and the divide and conquer tactics of the liberal movement and just stick with plain old American.
Why create special groups of people to hate the other groups of people rather than unite Americans all as one? Because all the while they are pointing the finger at others it is the Demonrats who are rascist.

Because they are not. Some are simply fiscal conservatives, and some Republicans are very enlightened about race.
Not many, but some.
