I'm not sure about anyone else, but here's why I do.
Of the three suits I have, the pants are slightly bigger than they need to be so that I can tuck in an undershirt and dress shirt, and the shirts won't bunch up at the waist or get wrinkled when I move. But since my pants are looser, they don't stay up very well, therefore, the suspenders.

Proper tuxedos (not suits) do not have belt hoops. Suits do not need suspenders if they have belt hoops. Pants meant to be used with suspenders usually have buttons inside of the pants. Suspender buttons are universal with all pants that require suspenders. Good Luck.

its to keep your pants up. sometimes belts dont work and on certain guys they look nice
