I saw a trailer for it, and it is one of those insane/sick gladiator/troy/alexander/ time period when the story takes place. It is about the battle of Thurmompoly between the spartans and the Greeks I think, who is planning to watch this sick movie? See the trailer in Yahoo movies, just search "300". =)

Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel, "300" concerns the 480 B.C. Battle of Thermopylae, where the King of Sparta led his army against the advancing Persians; the battle is said to have inspired all of Greece to band together against the Persians, and helped usher in the world's first democracy.

I've seen the trailer for the movie and it looks good. But I think the movie slightly exaggerates the real battle. 300 is based on the battle of Thermopylae that took place in about 480 BC. 300 spartans led by king leonidas held off an incredibly massive persian army for three days. Too bad it's rated R. But I'm still planning on watching it.

I'm definitely planning on watching "300" which will come out on March. It's about the legendary 400 Spartans who were sent out to fight against the Persian army. And yes, it was the Battle of Thermopoly. Like Sin City, it's art is by Frank Millier. I love the way the colors play around the scenes, and how it's dramatically assimilated with the action sequences. Though it's also about warriors and such, I never thought of comparing it with The Gladiator or Alexander. The Gladiator is more drama and Oscar hoopla, Alexander is full of good actors with bad accents who didn't even dare to portray the gay part right; like Troy. "300" isn't expecting to be awarded. It's just expected to make people go "ooh" and "ahh" with the brutally and special effects.. oh, and it's also expected to hit high gross in its box office weekend. We'll have to see if it tanks or not. But for now, I'm expecting a great show because I love historical battles, not to mention Gerard Butler and David Wenham.

It's a graphic comic adaptation of the Battle Of Thermopylae in 480 B.C. by Frank Miller, who did Sin City. The look of the trailer suggests all sorts of poetic license, such as giant beasts, grotesque and savage fighters. Actually, the story of the Battle itself needs no spicing up. 1100 Greeks, led by the King of Sparta, Leonidas, and his best 300 Spartan warriors, held off an army of almost a million Persians in a small pass along the northeast Greek coast. Their bravery in the face of overwhelming odds and certain death is, to me, the ultimate sacrifice one can make for their country. Everyone should read the historical account.

It comes out March 9th and it absolutely RULES!! I was floored when I first watched the trailer. I remember hearing about the 300 soldiers in grade school loooong ago. I'm glad that they went overboard with it. It's definitely something to look forward to.

No, they only had to attend till that they had adequate writers so as that one team could be assigned to jot down the action picture on an identical time as the others might proceed to jot down the television scripts. The Simpsons has been renewed a minimum of by using 2008.

I seen the trailer for last night and my first reaction was
oooooo, kkkkkkkay. Good grief; are they running out of ideas for movies these days? It seems they are just junk. I remember when movies actually had something to say, a point, you know? I guess that was the good ol' days. lol

You should go into your local comic book store and pick up the original comic (or graphic novel, if you prefer that term) by Frank Miller.

I saw the first trailer very early on - probably 6 months ago. My initial reaction hasn't changed: yawn! It just looks silly and dumb to me.
