Sexual harassment at work has now affected my shift patterns.
I have recently reported incidences of the above from a male colleague at my part time job. This has now been dealt with in an informal way, as I wished. Subsequently, my boss offered my shifts in my hearing to another (male) member of staff, reducing my hours. I believe that this is linked to the complaint I made. What do I do? I don't know who to ask for advice. Thanks.

go to the department of labour and write out a complaint form.you tell them that you tried to resolve this matter with your boss, and now it costs you with less hours since you told your boss about this matter.if anything sexual harassment is no longer tolerated at any jobs, why is this guy still even there?and further more his hours should have been reduced, cause of his actions on the job site.he should not be employed what so ever.if i were you ,you should charge him for sexual harassment, show him ,he's not going to intimidate you at all.look out for your self
and stand up to this pig.

make sure you fight for every penny coming to you.you should not be the one showing at a loss,he should be.go today put your complaint about your job.in the beginning you should never have had to work opposite shift from this guy, this matter should have been dealt with immediately for the sexual harassment.

If your job has a union, report the incident to them. Also if you have a human resource dept. I suggest that you go to them as well. Also always have things in writing any adjustments or changes put them in writing. There are so many places you can go to seek help. For instance find out where your legal aid dept is. They would love to assist you. This issue is touchy but very illegal. You have rights and by reducing your hours was not fair . Please don't let this stay this way. Get help. You have rights. Reducing your hours is not one of them.

Your employer is required by law to operate a grievance procedure. Ask for a copy then arrange a meeting under the procedures set out there to talk over your concerns with your boss. You will be able to take a colleague or union rep with you. If you want more formal legal advice (I am a solicitor) then feel free to email me directly.

First sit down and write dates and times of the harrassment. Next write down when you had your hours reduced. Then you need to go above your bosses head and report at that level. If you still don't get results it is time to see a lawyer and find out your rights and go from there.

I am sorry we now have a society that what we see on TV and hear on radio is unacceptable in the work place.many people can't seem to find the dividing line. I am still reluctant to hold a business too responsible for the actions of one bad apple so it was good what you have done so far but it is in the best interest of the business to see your options are fair. I would take you issue up one more level of managment first to seek a resolution.

You must raise this internally before you do anything else.

So, you should write to your manager, copy in HR/personnel raising a grievance (be clear that you state that) on the grounds of sexual harassment and discrimination.

They must, by law, investigate your complaint and meet with you to discuss it. If that doesn't happen, send another letter to someone higher up the management chain.

If you have any questions or want me to look over your letter, email me as I'm in HR and I hate it when things like happen!

tell your boss that you dont want your pattern of work changed because your getting harrassed. if he says anything tell him that you'll be getting legal advice aboutthis as he is in the wrong and he should do the decent thing. if not get him dont for unfair dismissal, you can do this by going into your local jobcentre as he has reduced your hours, you are loosing money you cant afford to loose.

the first thing you should do is talk to your manger about the issue. while you doing that, try to collect, evidence as much as possible. this could be using mobile recording or taping ur self with voice recording material.secondly, you seem to like ur boss. if you give it to him he will give it to you. take it easy
