Since only yesterday i have felt the need to urinate often, not too bad when sitting but worse when i'm standing or moving. I keep thinking about it all the time so i know this isn't helping to stop it. i have had some sort of virus or bug the last two days - tiredness, sick stomach, weakness & headache, but thats kind of gone now (still a bit tired). Today i've noticed blod spotting when going to the toilet. it stings a bit towards the end of urinating. I'm ovulating around now also. Any ideas what it could be? worried! useful answers only please. Thanks

Sounds like it could be a urinary tract infection based on how I've felt when I've had them (and I've had a number of them) One thing I never had was the blood spotting. I know some women that have had that symptom when the UTI had reached a certain point, but that's not a good sign and it could be a symptom of a bigger problem. I had a UTI that got so bad it turned into a full blown kidney infection and I still did not see any blood, just extremely cloudy urine (with fever, chills and crippling lower back pain) You have to see a doctor especially since you have seen blood. Hopefully this is something that can be cleared up with antibiotics.

Good luck.

It could be a sign of a UTI... but that is only if very little comes out when you urinate and go so frequently. I have a small bladder... so even half way through my pregnancy I go every hour. What you can do for a UTI is drink cranberry juice and plenty of water. Cranberry juice actually reduces the chance of the bacteria that causes a UTI from forming. I have been drinking a cup a day since I had my first UTI at 5 weeks... I am in the clear... no infections. If anything else... call your Doctor. Best of luck.

What you have is common in women and known as a urinary tract infection.

Urine is usually sterile which means it contains no micro-organisms. Urinary tract infection (UTI) is the general term given to infection of the urinary system, with bacteria and pus cells being present in the urine. Inflammation in the bladder is called 'cystitis', whether or not it is caused by infection.

The bacteria that cause UTI are usually the individual's own normal intestinal organisms which, in certain circumstances, are able to pass from the area around the anus into the urethra (the tube connecting the bladder with the outside of the body) and so into the bladder.

Being female increases your risk of a UTI: the female urethra is shorter than the male's, and this, together with the antibacterial actions of some secretions of the male's prostate gland, probably accounts for why women are more likely than men to develop UTI.

Symptoms of UTI include:
A burning sensation on passing urine
Needing to pass urine more frequently than usual
Needing to hurry to get to the toilet in time to pass urine (sometimes incontinence may occur)
Having the sensation of needing to pass urine but being unable to do so
Having cloudy urine, which may be foul smelling
Having blood present in the urine
Feeling unwell
Having a fever

Drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day is helpful although UTI is normally treated with an antibiotic, so I advise that you see your gp to aviod further complications.

You have a urinary tract infection - probably cystitis. The fact you can see blood however means you should see a doctor. He will probably prescribe a simple tablet that should clear it up in 24 hours - in the meantime drink plenty of water and cranberry juice.

Uterine fibroids are usually not dangerous, but can cause immense discomfort and lead to complications like anemia from heavy blood loss. In rare cases, they may cause complications that affect pregnancy.

In cases where there are no symptoms, treatment may not be necessary. However, proper diagnosis and treatment may be required if your symptoms are severe or causing complications. Along with conventional treatment, you can try some natural home remedies. Read here https://tr.im/4Aspu

go visit your doctor it sound as though you have a urine/kidney infection which may need treating with antibiotics, use a hot water bottle to help ease the discomfort and if you can do a urine sample ready for the doctor to test.

Yup, it could be UTI/Cystitis but make sure you are not pregnant, fibroids, uterine cyst. Take a pregnancy test and make sure you don't have ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage.
