that and because some of us are bored or that we all have something to say and hardly anyone to listen.I also have a theory that we were all the type of kids who asked all the why this and why that questions driving our parents bonkers

Well, i cant speak for everyone, but i can say that in my case, im like a person who´s always had and still has like a million questions running through my mind all the time, and so i find that actually being given the ability to ask these questions and hear other people´s thoughts and opinions about it...is just something really awesome. Cuz even if you dont find out the exact kinda answer you were hoping for, you can still learn alot just from listening to all these other perspectives on about it. And i think that when you try to answer a question, it makes you think about what your actual opinion is and so in a way, you start to learn about yourself, through someone else´s questions on a completely different topic. So i think its pretty cool. But like i said, this is just my point of view. :)

It creeps up on you doesn't it? Normally, I read a lot but I can't find a book that I particularly want to read so when I'm bored I tend to come onto Answers and get hooked. However, I do find some of the Q&A really helpful, particularly the computer ones because I know so little about them.

I am not lonely at all. I think it is addictive for some people for certain reasons and different reasons for others. It is fun. Fun things can be addictive.

Its addictive because some of the Q&A make you smile and encourage you post comments that get feed back. which you wouldnt normally get when your out and about..
and its fun way to share things you learnt ..

It might be, but I don't think so.
I prefer to think that it is because you can have whole world, bunch of people, different opinions... on plam od your hand. Or on your screen.
It is much easier to be what you are when ppl can not see you. And when you are what you really are it is easier to find ppl to understand you and feel with you and ppl that think in same way you do.
