I am moving to Kent soon purely because thats the only place I can now afford. In Rochester people seemed quite smiley and friendly when I visited but it is more expensive.

In Dover people seemed miserable. It's cheaper so I am still considering it. Were the people in Dover just having a bad day and vice versa?

People in kent are usually friendly because they have a strong visitor/tourist attraction.Look up on their web sites for local information ,councils, housing prices etc.Places to go and things to see in kent these sites would also give details on social events and local history.

My friend recently moved from the north east to Dover. She doesn't seem very happy but that might just be the change in environment and missing her old friends and home etc. She is originally from Margate, but says Kent has changed dramatically over the last few years
