Because he is VERY hurt by it and what it has done to him and his life.... Figure 27 years of being married to someone and the frustration hurt and pain of being married to someone and no matter what you did or tried to do it did not last or work out. The ex wife is probably just as hurt too. He needs counseling and help and time to get past this and the pain and aggravation it has caused in his life and I for one will be praying for him and his healing in all of this.

Because at this stage in life the change of direction has frustrated him. Obviously he was not happy about getting divorced, this is grief re the breakdown of his marriage, it will subside but give him time. If he is threatening you etc then seek legal advice. My guess is you initiated the divorce, usually women who do this have already gone thru the grieving process and by the time they announce that they want a divorce they have got to the stage of acceptance. Move on and be happy you cant change his feeling re this just like he could not change yours

Well, DUH. He was married 27 years .. everything is down the tubes .. he may have gotten cleaned out in the divorce .. He may have to start all over. Regardless who is at fault ... everybody gets shredded in a divorce .. emotionally for sure and likely financially as well.
